Shipped: a random-chat app for Gen Z India — built from a hypothesis, not a feature list

Every anonymous chat platform I've used has the same failure mode: people curate themselves even when they're anonymous. Same recycled openers, same guarded small talk. Nobody actually says anything.

So I built something narrower — one question at a time, pulled from a bank of 300 I wrote and refined specifically for Indian teens/early-20s (pressure, loneliness, identity, love, dreams). No profile, no bio, no scroll. You get a question, you answer it, you match with someone who answered the same one. That's the whole product.

Cold-start problem was real — nobody wants to be the first person in an empty room. Fixed it with bots that hold conversations until real users are online, clearly disclosed on-site so nobody's misled about who they're talking to. Trust matters more than the illusion of scale.

Not fully public yet — tightening the safety layer (report/block) before I push this to the actual target audience, because the demographic I'm building for makes that non-negotiable, not optional polish.

Next milestone: 20-30 concurrent real users, WhatsApp/community-seeded, no cold traffic.
