Building "IMDb for food" — worth continuing?
I've been building Plattd, an app that ranks individual dishes instead of whole restaurants. The pitch: most apps tell you a place is 4.2 stars but not whether the thing you're about to order is the best dish on the menu. Plattd ranks the dishes themselves, so you find the single best biryani / pad thai / smashburger near you, not just a "good restaurant."
Landing page is up at plattd.app and I'm far enough into the mobile build that I want a gut check before I sink more months into it:
Is this a real problem you'd use an app for, or do you just ask friends and read reviews?
Ever picked a solid restaurant and then ordered the wrong thing and regretted it?
Would you trust crowd-ranked dishes over restaurant star ratings?
Honest answers welcome, including "nobody needs this." I'd rather hear it now than after another three months of building.
