Settings should control how the app behaves, not how a user presents themselves. Things like notifications, privacy, messaging rules, integrations, and payment connections belong in settings because they affect system behavior. Profile should only contain identity information such as name, bio, avatar, links, and projects. Mixing the two creates confusion and makes the product harder to understand and scale.
