Today was a big milestone, Zoro is officially live on Product Hunt! 🎉
I built Zoro to solve a frustration I kept running into: there wasn't a task app truly built for founders, entrepreneurs, and builders. Every app I loved was bloated with features and ceremonies designed for large corporate teams, and every task app I didn't love just didn't have the features for me to prioritize and size our work.
Why couldn't I just have an app that allowed me to plan like I need to get shit done without being part of a team?
Also, and this is big, PRIVACY. Zoro runs entirely on Apple’s CloudKit. That means:
• I own ZERO infra
• Seamless sync across all your Apple devices
Worse comes to worse, i pay Apple $99 a year so i can finally build a task app I love, hopefully others too, and can customize i want...maybe make a little bit of cash on the side. It's the biggest win-win i can think of.

That's a great question, and it's actually something we've been working on. We're planning to release our MySpec MCP Server later this month, and one of the key capabilities will be bulk importing existing specs into a project on MySpec. We know many teams already have documentation they'd like to keep, so making that transition as seamless as possible is an important part of what we're building. I completely agree. The hardest audience for us isn't developers, it's founders and builders in the early stages who haven't yet realized that planning is often a bigger bottleneck than coding. Most communities naturally focus on shipping faster, while we're trying to start a conversation about building with more clarity. Curious if you've come across any communities where product thinking is discussed as much as implementation.

I've seen a lot of founders here looking for more ways to get their products in front of users, so I thought I'd share a few launch platforms that have actually been helpful for us. If you're building an AI or tech product, hopefully this saves you some time.
🏆 There's An AI For That - 9/10
Our favourite so far for AI products. It brought us real users, quality feedback, and the highest level of engagement compared to other launch platforms.
Product Hunt - 7/10
Still the biggest and most trusted product launch community. The audience is huge and very active, but if you're a solo founder relying mainly on organic reach, don't expect instant traction. A successful launch usually depends on preparation, community support, and building momentum before launch day.
DevHunt - 7/10
A great option for developer tools and technical products. The audience is smaller than Product Hunt, but much more targeted.
Tiny Launch 8/10
Very straightforward submission process and a nice way to get additional exposure. If you're planning to use the free option, submit as early as possible because the queue can take a while.
Uneed - 7/10
Another platform worth adding to your launch checklist. The free queue is long, but if you're planning ahead, it's an easy way to gain extra visibility without spending money.
One thing I've learned is that no single platform will bring all your users. Different platforms attract different audiences, so it's worth experimenting instead of putting all your effort into one launch. Also, don't ignore the free launch options. They usually cost more patience than money, and that's often a good trade for early-stage founders.
If you've found another platform that worked well for your product, I'd love to hear about it.
Bonus: I almost forgot one more platform, Bob's Tech Review. I actually discovered it through Tiny Launch and decided to give it a try. What impressed me most was the quality of the product review. Their review was incredibly detailed, and when I checked the draft before it went live, I barely had to make any edits because they had already understood the product really well. The only downside is that the reviews are quite long, so they might feel a bit overwhelming for people who just want a quick overview. That said, the users who came from it were genuinely engaged and high quality, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a look.

We’re currently doing LinkedIn and Reddit outreach and doing founder led marketing on LinkedIn. Our current user tally is at 100+ users.
We've been getting most of our exposure from launch platforms like Product Hunt, Fazier, Tiny Launch, and a few others. I think the key is choosing platforms that actually match your product. Since we're building MySpec, an AI tool for founders and developers, There's An AI For That has been the most effective so far. We've seen real users coming in and, more importantly, thoughtful product feedback. Some launch platforms charge a fee, but many have free options if you're happy to wait in the queue, so I'd definitely recommend submitting early! 😁
AI writes 180% more code. So why aren't we shipping 180% more software?
A recent MIT study, covered by Forbes, found that AI coding agents increased the amount of code developers write by around 180%, yet the amount of software actually shipped increased by only about 30%.
That statistic made us rethink where the real bottleneck is.
As founders and builders, we spend a lot of time choosing models, learning prompt engineering, and trying to generate code faster. But building a successful product has never been just about writing code. It starts with understanding the problem, defining clear requirements, challenging assumptions, aligning everyone around the same vision, and making the right product decisions before development begins.

That's a great point. Distribution is definitely a trillion dollar problem. It also makes me wonder which comes first, finding the right audience, or having enough clarity about the problem you're solving to know who the right audience actually is?

That's completely fair. To be honest, one of the challenges with a product like MySpec is that there's a lot to explain before someone signs up, so the landing page naturally ends up carrying quite a bit of information.
we'd love for you to try the actual product if you get a chance. The experience inside is intentionally more guided and structured than what might come across from a glance at the homepage. A few people have told us they found it much simpler once they started using it than they initially expected.
Your point about focus and reducing distractions is valuable though, and we'll definitely keep it in mind as we continue refining both the website and product experience.
And yes, we've heard the open-source request a few times already 😄

Great question. I actually think Claude Planning Mode is one of the best tools available today. MySpec isn't trying to replace it. The main difference is that Claude gives you a powerful model, while MySpec provides a structured workflow on top of that process. Many founders and developers don't know which questions to ask, what edge cases to consider, or how to turn a conversation into reusable requirements, architecture, and implementation plans. We built MySpec to standardise that process and produce consistent spec bundles that both humans and AI coding agents can work from. If you're already highly skilled at prompting and requirement discovery, the gap may be smaller. We're mainly optimising for repeatability, consistency, and reducing the amount of prompt engineering needed to get there.
